Directions to Watling's Castle and Sandy Pointe Estates

Journey into the 18th century and onto the dusty path that leads to the Watlins Castle and the Sandy Pointe Estates.

Tour the impressive three storey Sandy Pointe Estates plantation and experience life as it were back in the 1830's.  While touring, you are free to roam around the main house, the lookout tower, the cook house, and the slave quarters.  The landscapped exterior of the plantation is divinely planned and kept.

Information on the inhibitants of the plantation are available via plaques and signs located throughout the grounds.  Guided tours are also available.

An interesting fact to note is that San Salvador was once called Watlings Island, named after John Watling a famous powerful pirate from the late 1600's

In addition to the main house, the plantation includes buildings used for industrial or storage purposes, a cookhouse, and slave quarters.

The Lookout Tower on the property, which overlooks French Bay, has been restored.
