Best Accommodation in Bahamas

Local Recommendations from our My Guide Bahamas team

The Islands of The Bahamas offer many options for accommodation: there are luxury resorts and ultra-luxury resorts, some with their own private islands; all-inclusives of varying price ranges; villas and guest houses, as well as private vacation homes, which have become increasingly popular in the Out Islands. Guest houses and private rentals are economical choices if you are travelling in small or large groups. You can also find low budget guest houses and motels, and eco-style retreats.

How to Choose a Hotel? You are usually never outside of walking distance from a beach no matter where you stay in the Bahamas, but not all beaches are created equal, and there is certainly a difference between a beachfront resort or a beachfront room. In the Out Islands you'll have a healthy selection to choose from no matter your preference. Some of the other deciding factors when choosing the right accomodation: does your hotel have a casino or golf courses; does it have Internet access; is it family friendly or adult only; five-star or no star. In the Islands of the Bahamas you will find the full range in accomodation.  Finding Diamonds in the Rough In Nassau/Paradise Island you will find most of the large hotels with room capacity in the hundreds. Family Island resorts are usually much smaller. Most islands have two to three, up to a handful of well-established and highly marketed resorts; however, dig a little deeper and you will find hidden gems and authentic Bahamian hideaways. Not all of the hotels are technologically savvy, so don't just dismiss them because their websites look like they were built in the 1980s. These spots might not have a social media presence, but in some cases it may be because their visitors just want the place all to themselves. With our local expertise you will be able to differentiate those that make the cut and those that don't.
