Dolphin Encounters
Bahamas
A 20-minute boat ride from Nassau will ferry you to join a family of dolphins and sea lions, who spend their days hanging out in one of the country's most idyllic settings - a turquoise lagoon. Based on Blue Lagoon Island, Dolphin Encounters offers its guests the opportunity to get close to some of the ocean's most beautiful and intelligent mammals.
The Dolphin Encounters experience begins at the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal, where guests are invited on-board the Dolphin Encounters and Blue Lagoon ferry. There are three programmes available at the lagoon - the dolphin encounter, the dolphin swim, and the sea lion encounter. In both encounter programmes you learn about the animals and see them perform tricks, up close and personal. The hour-long swim involves full on interaction. You immerse youself in the water with the animals and witness them performing tricks and you try out the famous dolphin push.
For those wanting a bit of a beach day before or after their encounter or swim, upgrading with a beach day pass is recommended to get the best out of the lagoon; climb the inflatable water park or hang out in a lazy hammock, then catch a bite to eat at the onsite restaurant serving up grilled meals daily.
