If you thought sailing Bahamian waters would be nothing but peaceful bliss, you may have to think again. For years, Powerboat Adventures has been turning its nose up at old-fashioned sailing, and tearing its way through crystalline waters to the Exumas. Featuring two high-speed powerboats, Powerboat Adventures extends a welcoming hand to those looking for a thrill and adrenaline-pumping day at sea.
Visitors are invited to step aboard one of the two boats, which speed through the southern Bahamian islands, to Allen's Cay, where the small island's inhabitants look forward to its regular visitors. Guests will have the opportunity to feed native Allen's Cay Rock Iguanas, who'll scoot up to get their fill of grapes. Moving on, adventurers hop back on board and head to Ship Channel Cay, where they'll spend the rest of their day.
They'll be greeted by friendly stingrays, who'll get up close and personal as guests line up to hand-feed them a quick snack. Just before lunch, there'll be a few more visitors - considerably bigger, the Caribbean reef sharks, nurse sharks, and lemon sharks will require a more experienced handler, who'll wrestle with them and provide them with a snack for their troubles.
After a buffet lunch, visitors will have the option of taking part in a snorkel tour around the nearby reef before saying goodbye to Ship Channel Cay.
