Directions to Pelican Cays National Land & Sea Park
You won't find any water slides or swimming pools at this water park, where 2,100 acres of land and sea are dedicated to protecting plant and animal life above and below the surface.
Established in 1972, the reserve consists of the Pelican Cays - Channel Rock, Gaulding Cay, and the southern portion of Sandy Cay - which are all located south of Tilloo and Elbow Cays, as well as the surrounding water. A natural wonder, the park is a playground for divers and snorkelers; its crystal-clear water, multitude of undersea caves, coral reefs, and 177 species of terrestrial and marine life make for a sensational experience, and one that can keep visitors occupied for days.
Explorers are encouraged to pack lunch and head to the park via boat. Because much of the scenery is underwater, SCUBA equipment and/or snorkelling gear is recommended, along with sturdy shoes for adventuring above water.
As with all national parks, visitors are asked to be mindful of their surroundings when anchoring boats and cleaning up after themselves.
