Located in Alice Town Bimini, the Dolphin House is the swiss army knife of attractions. The Dolphin House is a guest house, a museum, and a gift shop lovingly built and curated by local author / historian, and scholar Ashley Saunders.
The Dolphin House is a veritable temple for art and Bahamian injenuity. Saunders spent decades creating the space from materials salvaged from local construction sites and the sea.
Visitors can enjoy daily historical walking tours hosted by Saunders herself. Ernest Hemingway, who was a frequent visitor to Bimini, was a big part of the lives of the Saunders family.
Saunders' uncle, Nathan Saunders, is mentioned in Hemingway's 'Island in the Stream'. Uncle Nathan, who was a musician and avid banjo player. Uncle Nathan wrote the song 'Big Fat Slob' about Hemingway.
