Long Cay
Bahamas
Have you ever imagined watching schools of dolphis swimming in pods in perfect torquoise blue waters? While day dreaming have you ever placed yourself on a blanket of lush green grass by a lively pond full of fish and turtles? Allow Long Cay Acklins to make your dreams come true.
Although only eight miles long, Long Cay is a magical island lying northwest of an ethereal lagoon known as the Bight of Acklins.
About 100 years ago Long Cay Acklins, was known as Fortune Cay. Back then the island punched way above its weight class in terms of its economic contribution to the county. Its main exports were salt and sponges and it was a major coaling station for passing steamships.
