Arawak Cay (Fish Fry)

Bahamas

Cays and Settlements

Just west of downtown Nassau's busy streets, financial centres and jewelry vendors, is Arawak Cay, where some of the country's tastiest cuisine is served.

Beginning as a set of makeshift food stands, Arawak Cay - also known as 'Fish Fry' - has since developed into a string of colourful restaurants beaded along the waterside. Arawak Cay's chefs promise an authentic Bahamian experience to both locals and visitors alike.  Fish-Fry is a hotspot for familiar visitors who frequent the area for popular dishes like conch salad, fried or grilled fish, cracked conch, and grilled lobster.

Conch is a delicacy in the Bahamas and you can get your share at the Fish-Fry.  Experience one of the popular conch salad stands, ideal for enjoying conch fritters, salad, and a local beer or sky juice (a potent and refreshing blend of gin, coconut water, and sweetened condensed milk).

The area is family-friendly by day when the site's bright and cheerful restaurants can be appreciated with a leisurely walk down the esplanade.
