Hoffman Cay

Bahamas

Cays and Settlements

Hoffman Cay is a miniature member of the Berry Islands, and a majestic treasure waiting for voyagers to stop and admire its untouched beauty.

Just south of Great Harbour Cay, this uninhabited island promises visitors simple relaxation. Surrounded by crystalline waters, known as the 'shallows,' the cay is only accessible by boat, and - as the water's depth shortens nearer to the shore - only by dinghies, wading, or swimming.

Busy marine life is always buzzing about in the shallows at Hoffman Cay, making it ideal for snorkelers and waders. Further inland are the cay's quiet and secluded beaches which are perfect for a picnic or afternoon nap.

After being rejunivated, visitors should strap on sturdy shoes and head into the underbrush. A short hike leads to the cay's pièce de résistnce (a large blue hole surrounded by rock cliffs). Explorers shouldn't pass up the opportunity to take the plunge from one of the rock ledges and savour the deep pool's cool water.
