Androsia Factory

Fresh Creek, Andros is the home of the Androsia Batik Factory. Since 1973, Androsia has been colouring the Bahamas with unique hand-waxed and hand-dyed batik fabrics and garments that are inspired by the beauty of our Bahamian islands.

Each yard of fabric is made by hand and every print symbolizes a natural element found in the Bahamas. All of the colours are pulled right from the islands. Androsia prints feature designs of shells, birds, fish, and flowers that can be seen in our natural environment, dyed in colours like guava pink, sea green, and aquatide.

Because all Androsia fabrics are hand-waxed and hand-dyed, no two yards are exactly alike. After wax-printing the design, the 100% Natural Fibre Fabric is then dyed. When the wax is removed, the beautiful white design remains against the vivid background. The fabric is then dried on a clothes lines in the sun. Androsia presently ships to accounts throughout various locations.
