Begin at Caves Village & Bat Cave, a limestone cavern home to fruit bats and folklore. Learn how early Lucayan tribes and pirates once used these caves for shelter and secret storage, and snap photos of the fascinating natural formations. Continue west to Clifton Heritage National Park (optional entry), where you can walk along trails lined with medicinal plants, explore ruins of 18th-century slave quarters, and even spot underwater sculptures like the famous Ocean Atlas. Your driver/guide can help coordinate a short guided walking tour or give you time to explore solo. Next, relax at Orange Hill Beach, a tranquil local beach that’s perfect for a quick dip, a photo break, or just soaking in the view with a cold drink in hand. On your way back to central Nassau, visit the Queen’s Staircase, carved by enslaved people in the late 1700s. Climb 66 dramatic steps through a shaded gorge to Fort Fincastle, a historic lookout once used to defend against pirates and invasions.
