On this personalized day trip you will experience Bahamian culture and food while getting a thorough introduction to Grand Bahama. Travel in an air-conditioned vehicle with your private guide and visit all the major local attractions. You can Sip a Sands, Grand Bahama's locally brewed Bahamian beer! The Bahamian Brewery makes six different types of beers and two types of radlers. There you can pick up any Bahamian made rum for gifts for the loved ones back home or other souvenir items made for the brewery. You can drink Fresh Coconut Water right out of its shell at the open-air Farmer's Market! At the market you can also pick up other souvenir items to take home made by local vendors. Enjoy trying the varieties of the native fruit in season and learn all about the local spices in their cuisine. You will participate in a Bahamian cooking experience where you prepare and eat the most popular native dish - Conch Fritters! To accompany your Conch Fritters, you can try Switcha, the Bahamian fresh lemonade made with local limes. After your Bahamian Conch Fritter experience, you travel to Lucaya, where the next stop is Port Lucaya Marketplace. At the Port Lucaya Marketplace, there is a wide variety of shopping both for international famous name brands as well as local art work, handmade Bahamian arts and crafts and quite a number of restaurants and bars. Then, after this visit, the tour continues further east, where you can enjoy sitting on a wonderful large wooden deck, eat a scrumptious native meal overlooking a beautiful beach with a very expansive sand bar at low tide that goes for miles and miles and miles. Marvel at the vast range of hues of turquoise in the crystal clear ocean waters. You can also choose to walk the Garden of the Groves, a 45 acre botanical garden in Lucaya where you will see all the local specialty birds, native trees, shrubs and flowers as well as see the Muscovy ducks walking around, turtles and fish swimming in the ponds. If you simply just want to sit and chill and relax on a beautiful beach in Lucaya and enjoy trying our native dishes and tropical drinks outdoors sitting on an open deck, in the shade or in the sun, you can do this at the location of your choice. There are a few beachfront restaurants and bars to choose from in the residential area of Lucaya where the rest of the afternoon is spent on this private customized daytrip. You may want to swim at the beach of the beachfront restaurant you choose so I suggest wearing your swimsuits or bringing them with you to enjoy the afternoon. Do not forget to bring your towels and a change of clothing for after your swim time on the beach. Needless to say, sunscreen and cameras are a must! Be sure to bring extra cash for shopping and other incidentals as most of the small local vendors take cash only.
