Club Peace & Plenty
Bahamas
Since its founding in 1958 by railroad heir, Lawrence Lewis, this Georgetown gem has undergone several transformations and is now known as the famous Club Peace and Plenty. Established in a centuries-old sponge warehouse and Loyalist cookhouse, the resort's popularity led to its expansion and future remodelling; the current Club Peace and Plenty can offer its guests a choice of 32 rooms, including three two-room suites.
Sitting on the water's edge, the club is centrally located in Georgetown, providing guests with access to some of Great Exuma's most popular attractions as well as local conveniences. A short ferry ride gives guests the opportunity to visit nearby Stocking Island and the Peace and Plenty Beach Club.
If given the opportunity, one must take advantage of exploring Exuma's exquisite waters, and guests are encouraged to take advantage of nearby boat and kayak rentals. SCUBA diving equipment and snorkel are available for rent, for the adventourous there is a wonderous cave diving expedition at the Great Exuma's Hurricane Hole....highly recommended.
Even with all of that in mind, there's nothing this club does better than offer simple relaxation and the chance to unwind on its pool deck, in the hands of experienced bartender, Lermon 'Doc' Rolle. Friday nights are exceptionally special at Club Peace & Plenty as they celebrate the end of the week with their infamous cocktail parties featuring calypso music, dancing, and karaoke.
